DEVELOP’s ineo 951: ideal profile for internal and external printshops

Langenhagen, June 2012

Documentation, booklets of operating instructions, reports: much of today’s high-volume output is still printed in black and white, and will continue to be in future. For the wide variety of frequently changing on-demand jobs internal and external printshops have to handle, outstanding output quality and a high degree of flexibility are vital. The new ineo 951 from DEVELOP has been designed with these criteria in mind. As an entry-level monochrome production printing system, the ineo 951 has a lot to offer.

Asked about the particular benefits the ineo 951 can bring to production printers, Patrick Klaus, Team Manager Product Marketing at DEVELOP, had this to say: “I am convinced that the outstanding quality of this machine’s printing and the high degree of media flexibility make the ineo 951 the ideal solution for demanding production environments. After all, to succeed in this segment, a printshop needs to ensure first-class document quality and great flexibility.”

Truly professional-looking documents

Internal and external printshops are undoubtedly measured by the quality of their output. And nothing but the best will do. Here, the ineo 951 can be relied on because the outstanding quality of its output ensures any document will look the part. Such quality is based on a number of outstanding technological features: a genuine resolution of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi; precision LED exposure, and a unique screening technology, for example. Besides, an innovative band transfer system ensures that the ultra-fine particles of the polymerised toner are transferred to the paper with greater precision than ever before – although this machine can handle a broader range of grammage. One particular advantage of the new band transfer system is the accuracy of the front and back page fit in duplex printing.

Reassuring media flexibility

DEVELOP has ensured that the ineo 951 is flexible enough to handle just about any job a printshop will face, e.g. a grammage range from just 40 g/m2 to an impressive 350 g/m2, and paper formats from 92 x 132 mm to SRA3 (max. 324 x 483 mm). With a maximum paper capacity of 9,000 sheets in five cassettes, the ineo 951 is well equipped for any high-volume job, and even voluminous mix-media jobs can be handled with ease. The system comes with a paper catalogue that stores frequently used media, which saves a lot of time in handling repeat jobs from regular customers. Moreover, the modular design of this production machine means that numerous customised configurations are possible. Thanks to a wide range of finishing options the ineo 951 can be tailored to a production printshop’s specific needs.

Potential for more business

Several features of the ineo 951 open up new business opportunities for internal or external printshops. A reassuringly high output volume is even guaranteed for heavy, thick media of up to 216 g/m2. And that is not the only boost to printshop productivity. The tandem printing function enables two of these machines to be coupled together to double their output – without the need to invest in some expensive software tool that enables the machines to print together. In the case of the ineo 951, the tandem printing function is a standard pre-installed feature. The combined maximum output of 11,400 pph compares well with well-established machines in this segment – and two ineo 951s cost a lot less! With a maximum monthly print volume of 1.5 million, the ineo 951 is robust enough to meet the demands of any internal or external production environment.

Finesse in finishing

However fast a printer may be, the jobs production printshops face mean it must offer a wide range of high-performance finishing functions as well. Here, the ineo 951 comes with numerous options that ensure documents are finished in style. Booklets of up to 100 pages are no trouble at all. The stapling options include 2-point and choice-of-corner stapling for up to 100 sheets. The 2- or 4-hole punching function can also be used for post-inserted documents. The folding options include a Z-folding unit for including A3 documents in A4 printouts and a letter-folding function for letters of up to three pages. One general advantage for printshops producing documents aimed at different target groups is that the ineo 951 can print and staple different pages within a single document.

As a monochrome production printing system, the ineo 951 is suitable for both newcomers to this segment and well-established internal or external printshops. And its many qualities mean it can be seen as a future-proof investment in this segment.
